Rocket League – Fast & Furious crossover

Coinciding with the upcoming release of the ninth film in the Fast & Furious series, a new three-car bundle will be available for purchase starting June 17th. This is not the first time that content from the Fast and Furious film series has made its way to Rocket League, as an F&F DLC pack was originally released in 2017.

The whole bundle is available for 2400 in-game credits (the equivalent of $24), which included the Pontiac Fiero with 2 wheel styles and 6 decals, the Dodge Charger with 2 wheel styles and 7 decals, and the Nissan Skyline with 2 wheel styles and 7 decals. If you already have the Charger or Skyline from the original release of those ‘Fast & Furious’ vehicles, you can purchase the wheel styles and decals for those vehicles as a separate upgrade for just 300 credits ($3). Alternatively, players can purchase just one of the car packs (including the car, wheels, and decals) for 1000 credits ($10) if they only want one car instead of all three.

Player anthems are a recently added customization option that became available just a few months ago, back in Season 2. This anthem plays throughout the Arena for all players whenever you score a goal, perform an Epic Save, or receive MVP honors at the end of a game. Anthems that the player has unlocked are equipable in the player’s Profile menu. Included in this new Fast & Furious crossover are two new player anthems, indulging a song by Anitta called ‘Furiosa’ and another anthem that has not yet been revealed. Unless it’s leaked, we will have to wait until the Fast & Furious crossover update becomes live in order to find out what the mystery player anthem is.

Also available to players is the “Tune, No Crust” title, which is a reference to a scene in the Fast & Furious film. (Titles are a customization feature that can appear under the player’s username on a banner and on the scoreboard.) This title will be given away for free! All the Fast & Furious items (cars, wheels, decals, player anthems, and the title) will be found in the game store and will be available from June 17th to the 30th.

Rocket League is currently in its 3rd Season since the game was made Free-to-Play (and is overall the 17th competitive season). Season 3 has already had two racing-themed crossovers, one with NASCAR and Formula One. The racing theme is also reflected in many of the Rocket Pass items and the DFH Stadium Circuit arena. This season will be drawing to a close soon as Season 4 will begin on August 11th.

Rocket League is available to Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 & PS5, and the Nintendo Switch. The game is also available on macOS and Linux, but for single-player only.

Fast and Furious 9 stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Sung Kang, and Ludacris. Originally planned for release in April of 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, much of the work had to be delayed, and therefore the film was released internationally on May 19th and will be released in US theaters on June 25th. Having already grossed over $261 million worldwide, F9 is currently the fourth highest-grossing film of 2021.
