PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is one of the most popular online multiplayer games that’s ever been produced. Abbreviated to PUBG, the game is based on previous mods that designer and director Brendan Greene produced for other games and was particularly inspired by the 2000 movie Battle Royale. Up to one hundred players at a time join together on an island and look to kill their opponents while avoiding getting killed. Player versus Player

PUBG is a player versus player shooter game where you can join up to one hundred people in a huge battle royale. It’s played in a last man standing format, and you fight to be the last person standing in your game. You can choose to play alone, in a pair, or in a group of four. When playing with a team, you’re also aiming to be the last team standing.

You’ll begin each match by parachuting from a plane onto the map, and there are four different maps to play on. This is where your first challenge begins as you work to eject yourself and head to the ground. While you have no gear to begin with, you’ll soon search around the buildings and deserted towns to find weapons and armor to protect yourself. There are areas of lower and higher risk within each map, and you’ll find the equipment and weapons vary depending on where you land. Once a player is killed, you can head over to loot them and take anything else they had. During the game, you can either play in first or third-person, and it’s really a personal choice which mode you prefer.

One of the most challenging and exciting parts of the game is that every few minutes, the map begins to reduce in size, and you have to rush to enter the safe zone in time. The players reduce as this happens, and random bombings also occur during gameplay. There are so many unexpected events and challenges that happen during the game, so you need to have your wits about you for the duration of each round. You’ll find a full round will take about thirty minutes to complete, so it’s an addictive game that players return to time and again. If you do complete a game, you’ll receive in-game currency, which you can then use to customize your character or weapons in the future. No two games are ever the same, which is why players find they are still connecting with their friends and returning each week to play.
