In 2016, the world was introduced to Overwatch, a multiplayer first-person shooter game that was created by Blizzard Entertainment. It’s marketed as a hero shooter game, and you’ll play in teams of six against an opposing team. There are many different characters you can choose in the game, all of whom are known as heroes and have their own unique abilities. During the game, you work to complete objectives that are specific to the map you are playing on within a certain amount of time.
Since its release, the game has continued to expand, as Blizzard has added more characters, modes, and maps, all of which have been free for players to enjoy. The only extra cost for players is to buy loot boxes, which are optional and allow you to purchase cosmetic items. The game was originally available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows, and then a few years later, it was also made available for Nintendo Switch too. In March 2021, fans were excited to see the game finally released on Xbox Series X and Series S, and cross-platform play is now supported on all the platforms as of June 2021.
