League of Legends – Patch 11.24
Published December 16, 2021The latest patch for League of Legends was released! Read here to find more information about which champions were nerfed or buffed!
The year is almost over, and to close up 2021, the developed behind the award-winning League of Legends, Riot Games, has released the final update of this year. Patch 11.24 is introducing quite a few changes, mostly balancing, to a few champions, items, runes, and dragons.
First, let’s start with what’s been nerfed. Camille has been on the OP list for a while, so it comes as no surprise that she’s been rebalanced. Her ‘Tactical Sweep’ ability has had its damage decreased from a range of 6 – 8 down to 5 – 7, while the cooldown for her ‘Hookshot’ has been increased from 10 – 16 to 12 – 16. This means that she will not be as strong, particularly in the early game.
A couple of champions have been slightly tweaked in a way that’s difficult to determine whether that’s actually making them stronger or weaker. The first change is Caitlyn, which was actually to fix a bug where she was able to Headshot enemies while being revived. Aside from that, her Headshot ability will now partially reset (thus firing faster) versus enemies affected by her Yordle Snap Trap or Caliber Net. Next, the ‘Divine Ascent’ passive ability for Kayle has been changed slightly. With this latest patch, the distance of the waves launched from her basic attack while she is Aflame will now scale with her bonus attack range. The other basic change was made to Kled to increase his max health from 1420 to 1550. His ‘Jousting’ ability also had its cooldown reduced slightly from a range of 10 – 14 to 9 – 13. Finally, Twitch’s ‘Spray and Pray’ has adjusted its extra attack distance to now scaled with his bonus attack range. This change should incentivize players to focus more on his damage rather than tanking.
Two champions were buffed, Samira and Ivern. As for Ivern, the experience he receives from defeating Krugs has been massively increased from 27 to 95, which the gold rewarded from Krugs was also increased from 39 to 85. This is mostly to remedy a significant disadvantage he has had in the jungle up to this point. As for Samira, her “Inferno Trigger” ultimate ability is now completely free to use, which is a remarkable increase to her power in battle.
There are several items have also been changed to improve balance:
- Archangel’s Staff – combine cost reduced from 950 gold to 550 gold
- Axiom Arc – ultimate cooldown reduced from 25% to 20%
- Cosmic Drive – move speed bonus reduce from 20% to 15%
- Crown of the Shattered Queen – ability power is reduced to 60 from 70
- Caesura – ability power reduced from 80 to 70
- Evenshroud – bonus damage reduced from 12% for 5 seconds to 9% for 4 seconds
- Frostfire Gauntlet – both melee and ranged frost damage reduced slightly
A few runes were also changed:
- Conqueror – adaptive force per stack slightly buffed and had duration increased by 1 second
- Glacial Augment – slow effect decreased from 35% to 30%
- Lethal Tempo – buff to melee and ranged attack speed slightly reduced
- Predator – max movement speed reduced from 60% to 45%
The Chemtech and Hextech drakes have been reworked slightly. As for the Chemtech Drake, its stacking damage per drake collected has been increased, but its powerful Dragon Soul effect has had its duration reduced by 1 second. Likewise, the Hextech Drake’s powerful stacking attack speed buff has been boosted.
When all is said and done this latest update is not exactly groundbreaking. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the next upcoming patch 12.1 due sometime next month!
