Genshin Impact – Update 2.4

The next update for Genshin isn’t expected to be released for another two months or so, but thanks to some leaks we have a little bit of information that should be very exciting for any Genshin Impact fan. Take a look!

The next update for Genshin Impact is expected to be released sometime early next year, likely in mid-January or early February. Officially announce information about this update is fairly sparse. Of course, as with most updates, it’s likely that there may be new banners, weapons, maps, areas, events, etc, but the truth is that until that information is officially released by the developers there is no way to know for absolutely sure.

Generally speaking, game studios like to hold their cards close to their chest and keep specific details about their games as private as possible. No doubt MiHoYo is no different when it comes to Genshin Impact. Unfortunately for them, it seems like quite a few details about the upcoming update have been leaked to the public.

First, it appears that it’s fairly likely that there will be 5-star Shenhe and a new 4-star character called Yunjin released in the next update (more on that in a moment), along with a Xiao re-run that may coincide with the annual Lantern Festival. It’s also speculated that Baizhu, an already fairly prominent character, will be increasing in importance in the storyline, but details more specific than that are not yet available.

More importantly, there still isn’t much specific information about the opera singer Yunjin’s abilities, but she is speculated to be of the Dendro type, which interestingly would make her the first Dendro-typed playable character to be released to the game. Naturally, this would make her extremely unique when compared to other characters and so many Genshin Impact fans are very enthusiastic about the possibility of adding her to their roster.

As for new weapons and artifacts, that’s still a little unclear. Although, there are some rumors online that there will be a new artifact set that can be earned from a new region called ‘The Chasm.’ Keep in mind these are just rumors and it remains to be seen whether that will actually materialize or not, so take that with a grain of salt.

Regarding ‘The Chasm’, this area has actually been visible on the map since Genshin Impact was released, however, this area has not been visitable by players. It should go without saying that having an area listed on the map but unable to be accessed has inculcated a lot of speculation about the mystery. Certainly, most players have been expecting that at some point in the future that area will be accessible for players to visit, but up until now, that has only been mostly a dream. Well now thanks to some interesting leaks, it seems like the ability to visit ‘The Chasm’ will be possible for players in the near future. While it has not yet been confirmed, rumor has it that this area will be instrumental in revealing the deep lore of the game, particularly that relating to the dragon Azhdaha who apparently resided in The Chasm before humans began to enter the area to mine resources.

Genshin Impact has only been out for a little over a year and it has already attracted millions of dedicated fans. The game features an open-world environment and active battle system and is currently available on Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and Windows. Plans have been made to release the game on Nintendo Switch, but unfortunately, it’s not clear yet when that will be.
