Genshin Impact – “Beneath the Light of Jadeite” (Update 1.5)
Published April 22, 2021The next update for Genshin Impact will be released next week. The upcoming content includes new exciting features like a housing system, fun events, and new playable characters.
Announced just a few days ago, Update 1.5 to Genshin Impact, “Beneath the Light of Jadeite” will be sure to quiet the complaints from disappointed players that found Update 1.4 to be somewhat lackluster. One of the best mobile RPGs currently on the market, Genshin Impact’s next update is expected to be released on April 28th. It will be adding a very significant amount of new content, including new quests, artifacts, gameplay elements, bosses, enemies, challenges, and two new playable characters.
We should start with what excites the most players, which are the two new playable characters. Eula is a five-star character that wields a claymore and deals Cryo damage through her Icetide Vortex and Glacial Illumination abilities. The other new character, Yanfei, is a four-star character with Pyro elemental abilities. At the moment, there’s not much information beyond that, but we all should be finding out more soon.
The new Genshin Impact update will also be adding a Hide-and-Seek event in which players will be splitting between the Hunters that must find all the Rebels to win and the Rebels that need to stay hidden for a certain amount of time without being found. This event automatically unlocks for any players that are level 20 or greater. Competing in this event will earn the player Windtrace Coins which can be exchanged for rewards in the event shop. Players will be able to earn a maximum of 600 coins per day. In multiplayer mode, you will only be able to earn coins if you choose the random matching setting. That is to say, if you form a team with your friends, you will be able to play in the event, but you won’t earn coins.
But it doesn’t stop there! The new update will include a new long-awaited housing system, which will be a permanent feature. Players will now choose to build their homes and earn rewards by crafting furniture and decorating their homes. You will also be able to visit your friends in their homes! Through completing the Chapter 1 Act 3 quest “A New Star Approaches in the City of Liyue questline, players will now be awarded a magical teapot called the “Serenitea Pot”. Available in the player’s inventory menu in the Gadgets section, the player will be able to use it to be transported to one of three different locations called “Realms”.
The player will be able to choose to build their custom home in the Floating Abode, a cluster of floating islands; at the Emerald Peak, which is a cloud-piercing mountain; or at the Cool Isle, a secluded small tropical island. Upon choosing one of these three locations to build your personal custom home, the player will be greeted by Tubby, a spirit who will manage the location and help the player set things up. In the player’s personal realm, there will be new gameplay mechanics to learn, and master, including the Trust Rank, which will allow the player to earn rewards and unlock other features in your chose location. As you add more furnishings and decorations to your realm, it will begin to generate a new in-game resource called Realm Currency over time, which can be used to purchases more furnishings, rare items, and resources.
That covers the most important new elements being included with this new update. The new housing system appears to be the most radical new change to the game, so we’re really excited to try that out, build our own custom home, and visit our friends to gain some decorating inspiration!
Genshin Impact is currently available on Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and Windows.
