Call of Duty: Warzone – Season 4

The fourth season of Call of Duty: Warzone launches on June 17th. Read more here to get all the details!

Tomorrow the fourth season of Call of Duty: Warzone will launch. As the two games are deeply intertwined, this will also be the fourth season for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and much of the content and story from one game is reflected in the other. Unfortunately, players won’t be seeing a new map, but there are other new things added and changes being made to the game.

As noted in one of our articles about the second season of CoD Warzone, the Verdansk area has been overrun by zombies. Revealed in an official trailer for Season 4, it appears that a satellite has crashed onto the Verdansk map, destroying several buildings and scattering its wreckage across the area. It seems like the satellite crashed roughly in the center of Verdansk, around the Hospital in the Downtown area. It also seems like large parts of the satellite crashed in the Farmland area. It will be interesting to see if the satellite crash has changed anything about the behavior of the zombies or if the crash is somehow related.

Based on the trailer, it seems that a very popular map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 may soon be featured in CoD: Warzone, possibly as a stand-alone map, or it may be added in as a sub-region within Verdansk. Regardless, we’re sure that fans of the Hijacked map will be happy to see it appearing in Warzone. It’s not totally clear at this point, but it seems like a superyacht may also feature in this area in Black Ops: Cold War. More clarity about this may become available after the changes become live on the 17th.

It seems like there may be a new villain being introduced to Warzone and Cold War, which should add some richness and depth to the backstory and world-building for both games. Additionally, it’s implied that this antagonist may be responsible for the satellite crash in Verdansk. We hope to find out more about that soon.

A new vehicle type will also be introduced to Call of Duty: Warzone, the motorbike! Finally, you can ride on a motorcycle, which frankly seems like something that should have been introduced to the game quite a while ago. In any case, it’s a very welcome addition to the game to make it more exciting for players and to keep the game fresh and interesting.

Finally, there have been some rumors that a yet-unnamed new map will be introduced to Warzone and that it will be based around the events of WWII, but that has yet to be confirmed. It’s also rumored that there may be new operators, weapons, and modes being added, but again, that is not yet confirmed. We will be sure to keep you updated with the latest news.

Released a little over a year ago in March 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone is free-to-play and available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows. Generally, the game has received mostly positive reviews. Within only a few months of the release, the game had already received 60 million downloads, and by April 2021, Call of Duty: Warzone had exceeded 100 million active players. CoD: Warzone was also nominated for Best Multiplayer and Best Ongoing game at The Game Awards 2020.
