Pokemon Go – Charge Up and Weather Week events
Published March 18, 2021This month has a lot in store for Pokemon Go players with the exciting Charge Up event and its focus on new electric-type monsters, along with the first-ever Weather Week event.
Pokemon Go players, the exciting time has come! Currently, a Charged Up Event is in progress, and soon Weather Week will follow.
The Charge Up event started on March 16th and will run until March 22nd. This week players will be able to find electric-type Pokemons as they will be more frequently appearing in the wild. Right now, you have the best chance to find Pokemon like Alolan Geodude, Voltorb, Electrike, Stunfisk, and a brand new one – Tynamo.
Additionally, the Therian Forme of Thundurus is now available in raids, and Mega Manectric has been added to the available Mega Evolutions list. Moreover, when opening gifts, you will have a better chance of receiving Evolution items. The Pokemon Go team also released the following information about this event:
• Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will reward Ampharos Mega Energy, Poké Balls encounter with Electric-type Pokémon, Manectric Mega Energy, and more.
• There will be available timed research, which will focus on evolving and powering up Electric-type
• List of the Electric-type Pokémons that hatch from 5km Eggs: Pichu, Elekid, Electrike, Shinx, Joltik, Tynamo, and Stunfisk.
• The following Pokemon will be appearing in raids:
o One-star raids: Voltorb, Shinx, Blitzle, Klink, and Tynamo
o Three-star raids: Alolan Raichu, Alolan Graveler, Magneton, and Ampharos
o Five-star raids: Therian Forme Thundurus.
This month also brought a new update that allows trainers to see which Pokemon will hatch from an egg, a huge improvement because investing a lot of walking time and distance to an egg that hatches a Pokemon you neither want nor need is rather disappointing. That being said, the probability for which Pokemon will hatch from the egg is still not visible.
As for next week, according to an update from the Pokemon Go team, “…we’re receiving forecasts of some wild weather on the horizon! We’re excited to announce the first-ever Weather Week event, during which Pokémon that enjoy rainy or windy conditions will be appearing more often in the wild,” and announce that from March 24th to March 29th, players should expect the following features for Pokemon Go :
- Throughout the event, Castform will appear more frequently in the wild and other Pokémon that usually come up when it’s rainy or windy, like Wingull and Ducklett. If you are lucky, you will encounter Shiny Rainy Form Castform.
- Tympole, Poliwag Psyduck, Drifloon, Swablu, Ducklett, and Mantyke, will be hatching from 5 km Eggs.
- In raids, you will encounter the following Pokémon:
- One-star raids: Tynamo, Slowpoke, and more
- Three-star raids: Pelipper, Swellow, and more
- Five-star raids: Therian Forme Thundurus
- Mega Raids: Mega Abomasnow, Mega Manectric, and Mega Houndoom
- If you want to encounter Pokémon like Rainy Form Castform, you should Complete event-exclusive Field Research and Timed Research.
- You will find new spring-themed avatar items in the shop
- From 24th March to 27th March Pokémon, which enjoy rainy conditions (f.e. Stunfisk, Lotad, Vaporeon), will be appearing more frequently in the wild
- From 27th March to 29th March, you will be able to meet more often in the wild Pokémon that enjoy windy conditions (f.e Pidove, Taillow, Skarmory)
Also of interest to Pokemon Go players is the release of the new loading screen for the game, which observant Pokemon fans may have noticed prominently displays species of Pokemon not yet available in the game, including the deer-like Xerneas at the top of the screen, the panda-like Pancham close to the middle of the image, and the pink fluffy Aromatisse can be found on the right side; and very faintly towards the center, the silhouette of the Fairy-type evolution of Evee, Sylveon, a particularly popular Pokemon.
We can’t hide being buzzed from all the electrifying excitement!
